Eagles miss out on Darius Slay reunion, beat to punch by AFC power image

The Philadelphia Eagles and Darius Slay did a bit of mutual flirting over the last 24 hours when it came to a potential reunion. The Super Bowl champion was let go by the Steelers in what was described as a mutual parting of ways after Slay was a healthy scratch in Week 13 when the Pittsburgh Steelers faced the Buffalo Bills.

Slay joined popular streamer Janky Rondo shortly after being released, and Rondo asked if he was coming back to the team that wears green and black, to which Slay said, "We gonna see." John Clark also reported that the Eagles had interest in bringing back Slay. However, that won't be happening, at least not in 2025.

The Buffalo Bills have claimed Slay off waivers, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

"Sources: Former Steelers and Eagles CB Darius Slay got claimed today on waivers by the Buffalo Bills," Schefter reports. "Slay now goes from playing against the Bills last week to being a part of that team this week."

Considering the struggles the Eagles have had with Adoree' Jackson, Slay likely could have come back and played a bigger role than he was set to play for the rest of the season in Pittsburgh.
