Eagles' kicker Jake Elliott can only miss wide left image

The Philadelphia Eagles gave Jake Elliott three attempts at a field goal on Saturday night in the first half.

He missed a 43-yarder wide left.

Then he missed a 57-yarder wide left, but a penalty was called.

And with a chance at a redo, Elliott missed his 52-yarder. Yep, you guessed it, wide left.

The Eagles trailed 10-7 at halftime with Elliott officially 0-for-2 but essentially 0-for-3.

It's not ideal at all.

Philadelphia's playoff chances are pretty safe. They'd have to lose out, and the Cowboys win out, to not win the NFC East.

But with two-and-a-half games still to play, the Eagles officially have a kicker worry.

Elliott hasn't been as good in recent years as he was early in his career. Kickers around the NFL have gotten better and better, and if anything, Elliott has gotten a tad worse.

This half wasn't good. There aren't a ton of good free agent kickers out there, but Philly fans will start thinking about alternatives anyway.

Elliott would certainly feel better if he makes his next kick. Maybe it's time to overcompensate a bit and aim to the right.
