Eagles get No. 68 pick in 2026 NFL Draft thanks to trade of 1-sack bust image

A couple years ago, the Philadelphia Eagles traded away Haason Reddick.

They got a third-round draft pick from the New York Jets in the 2026 NFL Draft for the pass rusher.

Now, we know what pick that'll be.

Because the Jets struggled this season, their third-rounder slots in at No. 68 overall. That's now the Eagles' selection.

Since Reddick was sent away from Philly, he had 3.5 sacks in two seasons. That included just 1.0 sack this year.

There's no guarantee that third-round pick will land a player more valuable to the Eagles than Reddick. But clearly based on production, they weren't missing too much with Reddick.

And instead, they'll get a potential value on a rookie deal in a spot in the draft that should still have lots of potential wins on the draft board.

This is one of those things that often flies under the radar. Trades that feature draft picks a few years out often play themselves out without really going back to examine both sides of the deal once it's all filled in.

But for the Eagles, they know getting rid of Reddick wasn't a big deal.

And now, they've got a chance to make themselves better for years to come.
