They originally traded for Green from the Texans on March 11.
They waived him Aug. 25, then signed him to the practice squad on Aug. 27.

Green, an offensive guard, originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick, No. 15 overall, and he started in 23 of the 27 regular season games he was active for with the Texans.
The Eagles traded for Green this offseason to add offensive line depth, and apparently he's right on the fringe of how deep the depth chart goes.
Green is still just 24, and as a former first-rounder, it seems like he should get more NFL chances. But for whatever reason, right now the best he can do is some musical chairs on the Eagles roster.
