A.J. Brown has found his name in the headlines plenty this season.

The Philadelphia Eagles' uber-talented wide receiver hasn't always felt like he's getting the chances he deserves. And he's found a variety of ways to share his feelings about that.

But recently, Brown used his A.J. Brown Foundation to give back to people in Philadelphia. And it's one of those things you don't often think about once a player steps off the field on a Sunday.

This is how Brown explained who he really is as a person in a piece produced by local NBC affiliate reporter Ashlyn Sullivan:

"That's the beautiful thing about how my father raised me. It's teaching me to be a leader, on and off the field. Do I make every decision the right way, do everything the right way? No. I give myself grace, because I'm human. But I really just try to lead by example and show my character even off the field. Ultimately, you only see three hours of me in a helmet. I'm much more than that. I'm a God-fearing man. I'm engaged. A beautiful family. And I've got a big personality (laughs)."

Brown may still get frustrated the next time the ball doesn't come his way. He's a competitor. He wants his chances.

But he's also more than a diva wide receiver, and he was able to show that in his latest community outreach.
