Things are starting to heat up with Brian Daboll, and the latest rumor suggests the Philadelphia Eagles won't be able to land him as the offensive coordinator.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the expectation is that if Daboll doesn't land the head-coaching gig with the Buffalo Bills, where he has been requested to interview, he will be the next offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans.

Russini goes on to add that the Eagles are conducting their offensive coordinator search with the understanding those are the likely two outcomes for Daboll.

"The Eagles are conducting their offensive coordinator search with the understanding that Brian Daboll wants the Bills’ head coaching job," Russini wrote. "If he doesn’t land it, Daboll is expected to wind up in Tennessee as the offensive coordinator for Cam Ward and the Titans, per sources."

Back when the Eagles first started their interview process, Russini reported Daboll, who has interviewed for the job, was one of Philly's top candidates.

The other was Mike McDaniel, who is expected to be the next play-caller for the Los Angeles Chargers.

That means the Eagles have swung and missed on both of their top candidates, which isn't a great look for a franchise that has no shortage of talent on that side of the ball.

But another thing the Eagles have no shortage of is dysfunction on the offensive side of the ball, which could very well have played a role in Philly missing out on both Daboll and McDaniel.

It remains to be seen who the Eagles will ultimately land for the job, but things just got a lot more difficult for head coach Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman.
