The Philadelphia Eagles' season is over after a 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild card round of the playoffs. Jalen Hurts and the offense struggled to get anything going, as he finished with just 168 yards passing and less than five yards per attempt.
This game was also another rough outing for A.J. Brown. While other games this season have featured rough stat-lines for the All-Pro wideout, those were largely in part to lack of targets going his way. However, he had multiple big drops in key situations and ended the game with just three receptions for 25 yards. Brown didn't speak to the media after the game. He did, however, leave a gift in the locker of teammate Quinyon Mitchell - a signed jersey with a congratulatory message on making the NFL All-Pro team.
"AJ Brown left this for Quinyon Mitchell at his locker," Eliot Shorr-Parks posts on X. “All-Pro Q….Proud of you.”
Mitchell earned First-Team All-Pro honors in just his second season in the NFL. However, Brown leaving the stadium early before speaking to the media and leaving a gift like that in Mitchell's locker only furthers the speculation that he will me playing elsewhere in 2026.
This was a season of drama for Brown and the Eagles, which started in Week 4 after Brown posted a photo on X of a quote that made it clear he was unhappy. The quote read, "If you're not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way."
Brown deleted the post shortly after. Later on in the season, he appeared on a Twitch stream and told fans who had him on their fantasy teams to get rid of him because he doesn't get the ball.
"It's the same things I've been saying all season," Brown said via Nick Shook. "So me making light of my situation on Twitch with my friend, that's something I'm not apologizing for. Because, like I said, if you have eyes, you can see that."
Time will tell whether or not Brown will be an Eagle in 2026.
