Why is ESPN fantasy football app not working? Managers frustrated over technical issue image

We are in the first week of the fantasy football playoffs for the vast majority of leagues and ESPN is having a tough time.

The tough time is stemming from the fact that the company's app is not working as the first game of Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season has already started.

As of this writing, the app is showing that the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons has not started yet, even though it has.

So, what's going on? Here's what we know.

Why is ESPN fantasy app not working?

UPDATE: We might be back!

Our app is currently working as normal, and we hope the same can be said for everyone else.

It was a tough road to get here, but we're here.

END OF UPDATE

UPDATE: OK, so the issue isn't fixed yet, but if you go to the home screen on the app after logging in to your league, you can see the total score of your matchup on that first screen, just not the individual scores of players or the team scores on the "Matchup" and "My Yeam" tabs.

Not great, but better than nothing until it gets fixed, I guess.

We're keeping an eye on the ESPN Fantasy Sports page on X, but there hasn't been any word from the company about what's going on yet.

END OF UPDATE

It remains unclear what is leading to the issue with the ESPN fantasy app not working.

As far as we can tell, ESPN has not said anything publicly about the issue with its app, so there is no official word yet on what the deal is.

We'll update this page once more information is available.

Looks like we'll have to keep track of our fantasy playoff matchups in our heads for now. Who has a pencil and a piece of paper?

Hopefully it gets fixed soon so we can actually track our fantasy matchups!

Fantasy managers share their frustration

"ESPN is the most garbage company on the planet these days. No fantasy updates on the first game of playoffs? Can’t wait to never use this app again," one fantasy owner said.

"Maybe Kyle Pitts broke the ESPN Fantasy app," another owner joked.

"ESPN fantasy app letting us all down tonight. Straight to jail," another fantasy manager said.

"First week of the fantasy football playoffs and the ESPN app down. Do better!" Said another fantasy player.
