At this point in time, no one knows what the future has in store for Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The future Hall of Fame entered the 2025 NFL season hinting that it would be his last. However, there have been hints dropped by Rodgers himself that he might not decide to hang up his cleats when the year comes to an end.
He has enjoyed good success during his first season with the Steelers. That could convince him to give it one more run in 2026.
Should he choose to do so and come back for one more year, where would Rodgers play? He signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh for the 2025 season. Once again, the 42-year-old future Hall of Famer will hit free agency.

Many believe that he would simply re-sign with the Steelers. However, there could be a surprising destination waiting to make a push to sign him.
During the 2025 offseason, the Minnesota Vikings were among the teams that Rodgers was interested in playing for and some reports suggested that he preferred the Vikings over Pittsburgh. If that is true, could Minnesota consider revisiting that interest?
J.J. McCarthy has not looked great in his first year as the Vikings' starter. Quite simply, he does not look ready to be an NFL starter yet. Rodgers could come in for one season, help lead Minnesota on a potential Super Bowl run, and then ride off into the sunset.
So far this season, Rodgers has played in 11 games. He has completed 65.2 percent of his pass attempts for 2,086 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Those numbers would be an upgrade for the Vikings.

Granted, it's just an idea. Rodgers might just retire following the 2025 campaign. But, if he does have interest in continuing his NFL career for another year, Minnesota would be a team worth watching closely.
Expect to hear a lot of rumors about Rodgers as the season winds down. He's hoping to lead the Steelers to the playoffs and on a run, but the recent going has gotten tough for the team.
Only time will tell, but Rodgers will be one of the most talked about names during the 2026 NFL offseason as well.
