When it comes to Shedeur Sanders' football career, he will never be able to avoid connections to his family.

Mostly, that's a product of his father and former coach, Deion. "Prime Time" is well-regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all-time — the only athlete to ever appear in both the Super Bowl and World Series.

But even outside of Coach Prime, there's plenty more to know about the Sanders family, which will be supporting Shedeur as he begins his NFL career with the Browns.

Here's what to know about Shedeur Sanders' family tree, including his mother, two brothers and two sisters.

Shedeur Sanders dad: Deion Sanders

Deion Sanders has famously been the head coach for Shedeur and his brother, Shilo, on various teams. In 2017, Deion became the offensive coordinator for Trinity Christian High School, where he coached three of his sons, including Shedeur.

In 2020, Deion became the head coach at Jackson State, where Shedeur then committed to after initially committing to Florida Atlantic. In 2021, Shedeur Sanders became the Tigers' starting quarterback, and he remained the starter under his father through his entire collegiate career.

In 2023, Deion Sanders was named the head coach at Colorado, again bringing his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo, along with him. Under Deion, Shedeur Sanders became one of the nation's best quarterbacks, and at times, resembled his NFL father.

Shedeur entered the 2025 NFL Draft process as a potential top-five pick, but ended up falling all the way to the fifth round, where Cleveland selected him at No. 144. There were a number of theories tossed around as to why the quarterback fell so far, one of them being that teams were afraid to bring on the attention that comes with drafting Deion's son.

Shedeur Sanders mom: Pilar Biggers-Sanders

Pilar Biggers-Sanders is an actress, model and wellness coach. She has appeared on "The Jamie Foxx Show," "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "Veronica's Closet."

Pilar has also built a significant social media following, creating fitness videos and supporting her sons on their football journeys. She attended Colorado's pro day in and Shedeur's jersey retirement in April 2025.

Deion married Pilar in 1999, his second marriage, and the couple had three children, including Shedeur. Deion also has two children with his first wife, Carolyn Chambers.

Deion and Pilar have been divorced since 2015. In April 2012, they both faced misdemeanor assault charges after a dispute, but a judge ruled that neither had committed family violence. In 2013, they had a custody dispute over their three children, and Deion was given sole custody of their two sons, while they had joint custody over their daughter.

Shedeur Sanders brother: Shilo Sanders

Shilo Sanders, who was Deion's first son with Pilar, is 25 years old. He's also played football like his father and brothers, competing as a wide receiver and safety at Trinity Christian High School while his father coached there. Shilo Sanders committed to South Carolina as a safety, playing for the school in 2019 and 2020 before transferring.

In 2021, Shilo joined Shedeur and Deion at Jackson State, remaining with the team until 2023, when the whole family moved to Colorado. The safety used up his final collegiate eligibility in 2024. Over his collegiate career, Shilo totaled 217 tackles, six interceptions and seven forced fumbles.

Shilo went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the Buccaneers. The team did draft two cornerbacks, Benjamin Morrison out of Notre Dame at No. 53 overall and Jacob Parrish out of Kansas State at No. 84 overall, whom Sanders will compete with.
