The Indianapolis Colts made the splash of the trade deadline, acquiring cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets for two first-round picks and wide receiver AD Mitchell.
Gardner, the former No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has been one of the best cornerbacks in the league since entering the NFL and instantly becomes a top player on the Colts' defense. Indianapolis is approaching this season — in which the team started 7-2 — as a chance to make a serious playoff run in January.
First, the Colts have to travel to Germany to play the Atlanta Falcons and try to avoid their first two-game losing streak of the season. Indianapolis is coming off a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week but still remains comfortably in first place in the AFC South.
Cornerbacks aren't typically the highlight of a game, but all eyes will be on Gardner for his Colts debut. Gardner hasn't played since Oct. 19, after missing a game with a concussion and then spending the following week on a bye ahead of the trade deadline.

11:30 a.m. — Gardner nearly intercepted Michael Penix on third down and certainly looked like he should've had it. Still, it's his first pass deflection as a Colt and forces a punt.

10:42 a.m. — The Colts don't have Gardner on London, and the results have not been great. London beats LB Germaine Pratt for a touchdown.
10:22 a.m. — Gardner has three tackles on the day, but he hasn't seen too much action. The biggest reason is the time of possession disparity: Atlanta has had the ball for less than seven of the first 19 minutes.
10:13 a.m. — Gardner does not seem to be shadowing Drake London today, despite some speculation he would.
