Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season gave us plenty to talk about, with the Patriots and Steelers both making headlines (albeit for different reasons). Now, the two familiar AFC foes prepare to do battle once again in Pittsburgh.

The Patriots started their season with a whimper instead of a bang, putting up just seven points in a season-opening loss to the Dolphins in Miami. Bill Belichick's decision to go into the season without a designated offensive coordinator left a lot of people scratching their heads, and New England's offense looked out of sorts from the very start.

Second-year quarterback Mac Jones struggled, turning the ball over twice including one fumble that went for a Miami touchdown. It's not entirely his fault, though, as his offensive line was routinely overpowered by the Dolphins' pass rush.

The Steelers, on the other hand, are coming off a thrilling 23-20 overtime win over the reigning AFC champions — Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

The Pittsburgh defense gave Burrow fits all day, forcing the former No. 1 overall pick into five turnovers. But a mediocre performance from the offense, helmed by new starter Mitch Trubisky, opened the door for the Bengals to get the win in the dying seconds.

Burrow found Ja'Marr Chase for a touchdown to tie the game as the clock hit zeroes, but Minkah Fitzpatrick got a hand on the ensuing extra-point attempt to send it to OT. After a few more missed kicks in the overtime period, Chris Boswell finally connected on a 53-yarder to give the Steelers a miraculous win.

However, it came at a cost as Pittsburgh's superstar linebacker T.J. Watt picked up a pectoral injury that will keep him out for an undetermined amount of time.
