The Patriots are traveling to Metlife Stadium to face the Jets in a showdown of rookie quarterbacks.

Both Mac Jones, who New England drafted 15th overall, and Zach Wilson, who the Jets snagged in the second-round, led their teams to losses in their NFL debut. However, Mac Jones has a better chance of redeeming himself in the Patriots' Week 2 matchup.

Wilson managed to impress the Jets' new coaching staff throughout preseason, but encountered several struggles in their Week 1 matchup against the Panthers. The rookie quarterback was no match for former Jets' quarterback Sam Darnold, as Wilson completed 20 of 37 passes and threw for 258 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

After he executed a very confusing pass attempt to kick off his NFL debut, Jones made a strong impression as the Patriots’ first rookie in the position since 1993. The Alabama product completed 29 of 39 passes and threw for 281 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Although the Patriots fell to the Dolphins in Week 1, Jones has a chance to make big plays against the Jets.

New England is favored by 6.5 points heading into the rival matchup, according to FanDuel. Aside from stopping Jones from driving the Patriots’ offense down the field, the Jets face the strenuous challenge of protecting Wilson. The absence of left tackle Mekhi Becton, who suffered a knee injury during Week 1, will be felt on the offensive line as they attempt to stop the Patriots’ defense from pinning Wilson to the ground.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the Week 2 matchup:
