A heated NFC North rivalry comes to Ford Field with Green Bay looking to take the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The Packers (9-3) trail New Orleans by a game for rights to a first-round bye in the playoffs. Three of Green Bay's four remaining games are against losing teams, including two of the worst scoring defenses (Detroit and Tennessee). That bodes well for Aaron Rodgers who, along with Patrick Mahomes, has emerged as a favorite to win the NFL MVP. Rodgers was already the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 300 touchdowns with fewer than 100 interceptions, and last week against the Eagles he threw his 400th touchdown, while still having fewer than 100 career interceptions.

At 5-7, Detroit is on its way to its third losing season in as many years. The Lions, however, did pick up a big win last week over Chicago in their first game since firing head coach Matt Patricia. Interim coach Darrell Bevell was the team's offensive coordinator and also served as Green Bays quarterback coach during Rodgers' rookie season in 2005. In the win over the Bears, Matthew Stafford threw for a season-high 402 yards.

The Packers already defeated Detroit 42-21 back in Week 2. Aaron Jones had a monster day, leading Green Bay in both rushing yards (168) and receiving yards (68). He scored three total touchdowns.
