With the season quickly approaching, the league's 32 teams begin training camp in the second half of July, and in 2025, the month closes with preseason action as the Hall of Fame Game is set for Thursday, July 31.

By July 23, all 32 NFL teams will have reported for training camp, delivering action and instilling hope in fan bases worldwide. Beat reporters and social media teams provide the first glimpse of 2025 squads taking the field with the ultimate goal of being the last team standing in February.

As the annual process begins, here is everything you need to know about NFL training camps in 2025, including when players will report, where camps will be held, and which teams will go head-to-head in joint practices.

The start of training camp varies from team to team. In many cases, rookies are to report before players with NFL service.

The Chargers were the first team to report in 2025, with rookies reporting on July 12 and veterans reporting on July 16. The Chargers' early report date is tied to their participation in the July 31 Hall of Fame Game, in which they will face the Lions.

All NFL teams will have begun training camp by July 23, which is the date when the Falcons and Steelers will report to their quarters as the final two teams to report.

NFL training camp schedules 2025

While training camps begin on different dates, they follow the same set of rules and procedures outlined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Live contact is not permitted until Day 7 of camp, which falls after a mandatory day off on Day 6.

Here is a breakdown of each of the training camp phases:

NFL training camp joint practices 2025

In addition to intrasquad scrimmaging, training camp ramps up with joint practices between NFL teams. Joint practices are an annual highlight of the training camp schedule, as teams host an opponent at their facilities with controlled live-action game reps that closely simulate a game.

NFL training camp locations 2025

Most NFL teams host training camp at their home practice facilities, but franchises often use camp as an opportunity for team building at a different location than typical training activities.

The Chiefs, for example, will have their 2025 camp at Missouri Western State University in nearby St. Joseph, Mo., while the Cowboys will be a much more extreme example, making their annual camp trip from North Texas to Oxnard, Calif.
