AFC

1. Denver Broncos, 13-3 (champions, AFC West)

The Broncos clinched the division title after holding off the Chiefs on Christmas night and then watching the second-place Chargers lose to the Texans on Saturday. They would also clinch the No. 1 seed if the Patriots lose to the Jets on Sunday.

2. New England Patriots, 12-3 (first place, AFC East)

The Patriots, who have clinched at least an AFC wild-card berth, are a half-game behind the Broncos in the conference and remain a game ahead of the Bills in the division. The Patriots can clinch the division title with a win over the Jets and a Bills' loss or tie to the Eagles.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars, 11-4 (first place, AFC South)

The Jaguars, who have clinched at least an AFC wild-card berth, lead the division by a half game over the Texans. The Jaguars need to beat the Colts on Sunday to keep pace and stay in first place because the Texans would otherwise hold the division-record tiebreaker after the teams split their season series.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers, 9-6 (first place, AFC North)

The Steelers saw their division lead over the Ravens shrink to 1.5 games after the Ravens beat the Packers on Saturday night. The Steelers would, however, clinch the division before their home rematch with the Ravens in Week 18 by winning at the Browns on Sunday.

5. Buffalo Bills, 11-4 (second place, AFC East)

The Bills, who have clinched at least an AFC wild-card berth, will hope to make the one game behind the Patriots over the final two weeks. If the Patriots beat the Jets, the Bills would need to keep pace by beating the Eagles to make the division title come down to Week 18, when the Bills play the Jets and the Patriots play the Dolphins.

6. Houston Texans, 11-5 (second place, AFC South)

The Texans put more pressure on the Jaguars in the division race and also jumped right behind the Bills, whom they beat at home in Week 12, after beating the Chargers on the road on Saturday. They will root for the Colts to beat the Jaguars on Sunday to take control of the division ahead of playing the Colts in Week 18.

7. Los Angeles Chargers, 11-5 (second place, AFC West)

The Chargers, who have clinched at least an AFC wild-card berth, dropped to the third and final wild-card spot after their home loss to the Texans on Saturday. With the Broncos having locked up the division title, the Chargers have little for which to play in Week 18.

Who's in the hunt?

9. Baltimore Ravens (8-8)

The Ravens kept their division title hopes alive going into Sunday by winning a tough interconference matchup at the Packers on Saturday night. They need to hope the Steelers lose to the Browns on Sunday or they would be eliminated, down two games with only one left to play, a road game at the Steelers in Week 18.

1. Seattle Seahawks, 12-3 (first place, NFC West)

The Seahawks lead the Rams by one game after beating the Rams at home in Week 16. They can clinch the division title in Week 17 with a win over the Panthers coupled by losses or ties by both the second-place Rams and third-place 49ers.

2. Chicago Bears, 11-4 (champions, NFC North)

The Bears clinched the division title on Saturday night before their tough road game against the 49ers on Sunday night, thanks to the Packers losing to the Ravens, which put Green Bay too far behind going into Week 18. The Bears can now focus on beating the 49ers and hoping the Seahawks lose to the Panthers so they can take control of the top seed going into Week 18.

3. Philadelphia Eagles, 10-5 (champions, NFC East)

The Eagles clinched the division title in Week 16 ahead of facing the Bills on Sunday. They have a slim chance of moving up to No. 1 and because of the 49ers playing both the Bears and Seahawks to close the season. Setting up one of those teams to get the top seed. They also are a game and head-to-head tiebreaker behind the Bears.

4. Carolina Panthers 7-7 (first place, NFC South)

The Panthers lead the Buccaneers by a game after beating the Buccaneers at home in Week 16. They can clinch the division title with a win over the Seahawks coupled with a loss or a tie by the Buccaneers against the Dolphins. Otherwise, the division would come down to the rematch in a de facto title game with Carolina going to Tampa Bay in Week 18.

5. San Francisco 49ers, 11-4 (second place, NFC West)

The 49ers would be the division champions plus No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs if they beat the visiting current No. 2 Bears on Sunday night and finish a sweep of the visiting Seahawks in Week 18.

6. Los Angeles Rams, 11-4 (third place, NFC West)

The Rams have clinched at least a wild-card spot but now the division title is out of their control. They need to win out against the Falcons and Cardinals and get help, given the Seahawks play at the 49ers in Week 18.

7. Green Bay Packers, 9-6-1 (second place, NFC North)

The Packers, who clinched a wild-card berth with the Lions losing to the Vikings on Christmas, can no longer win the division title over the Bears after losing at home to the Ravens on Saturday night. They should rest their several injured key players, led by Jordan Love, in Week 18 after locking into this last playoff seed.

Who's in the hunt?

11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-8)

The Buccaneers can't earn a wild-card berth but they can still win the division by winning out against the Dolphins and Panthers and the Panthers also losing Sunday vs. The Seahawks.

Who's out?

8. Minnesota Vikings (8-8)
9. Detroit Lions (8-8)
10. Dallas Cowboys (7-8-1)
12. Atlanta Falcons (6-9)
13. New Orleans Saints (5-10)
14. Washington Commanders (4-12)
15. Arizona Cardinals (3-12)
16. New York Giants (2-13)

The Lions were the most recent team to be eliminated with their loss to the Vikings on Christmas day, which also came with them falling into last place in the division.
