NFL picks against the spread for Week 13

Thanksgiving Day Games
Packers at Lions (-3, 49 o/u)
Thursday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
The Lions' offense saved the day against the Giants' offense taking it to them through the air with plenty of Jahmyr Gibbs. The Week 1 matchup in Green Bay was rough for Jared Goff, but he should keep feeling it more with Gibbs and Amon St. Brown doing a lot of damage in the short-to-intermediate passing game to take pressure off Goff vs. Micah Parsons. Jordan Love's running game will find a little more tough sledding and has limited firepower with which to match.
Pick: Lions win 30-24 and cover the spread.
Chiefs (-3.5, 51.1 o/u) at Cowboys
Thursday 4:30 p.m. ET, CBS/Paramount+
Patrick Mahomes did enough to beat the Colts but it was not possible without special teams, defense and the running game. He still made the key throws to Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and others in Week 12 and will revved up to take advantage of favorable cornerback matchups in Dallas. Kareem Hunt can also remain a factor to provide balance. The Chiefs will be more consistent in moving the ball with Mahomes than the Cowboys will be with Dak Prescott as Kansas City keeps its regained one-score game mojo.
Pick: Chiefs win 30-24 and cover the spread.
Bengals at Ravens (-7.5, 51.5 o/u)
Thursday 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC/Peacock
The Bengals are getting Joe Burrow (toe) and Ja'Marr Chase (suspension) back here, but might be shorthanded again with Tee Higgins in concussion protocol. Baltimore's defense has enough holes vs. Pass and run with its injuries to keep Cincy hanging around until the fourth quarter, when Derrick Henry's running helps slam the door shut.
Pick: Ravens win 31-24 but fail to cover the spread.

Black Friday Game
Bears at Eagles (-7, 44.5 o/u)
Friday 3 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime Video
The Eagles had a chance to pull away in the NFC East in Week 12, but they were non-existent in the second half. That unacceptable disappearing act negated a strong first half by Jalen Hurts. He needs to take games more into his hands (and legs) with more aggressive running and passing. That will be the key to outdueling a hot Caleb Williams in Philly.
Pick: Eagles win 24-20 but fail to cover the spread.

Game of the Week: Bills (-3.5, 47.5 o/u) at Steelers
Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
The Bills have been up and down all season but with some time to reset from the rough game in Houston, they'll be ready to turn in one of their best performances as the combination of Josh Allen and James Cook is a tough rushing matchup for the Steelers. Whoever's at QB, Mason Rudolph or Aaron Rodgers, will get plenty of help from his running game, too, but Allen is better equipped to make big pass plays.
Pick: Bills win 27-20 and cover the spread.

Lock of the Week: Patriots (-7.5, 46.5 o/u) over Giants
Monday 8:!5 p.m. ET, ESPN
The Patriots have been easing on the gas a little at home but they'll be more focused to pull away after making things too close vs. The Jets and Bengals. Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart give the Giants two game QBs and either can try to make this interesting, one with his arm and one with his leg. But there's the matter of stopping Drake Maye big pass plays and revamped power running game, neither of which will happen much.
Pick: Patriots win 38-17 and cover the spread.
Upset of the Week: Texans (+4, 44.5 o/u) over Colts
Sunday I p.m. ET, CBS
The Texans' defense gives the team a chance every week. They should focus on slowing down Jonathan Taylor early so they can get into strengths of pressure and coverage against Daniel Jones. Whoever's at QB will find room to move the ball with the young wide receivers vs. The Colts. Jones can be forced to game-changing giveaways.
Pick: Texans win 24-23
49ers (-6.5, 40.5 o/u) at Browns
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS
The Browns' defense will rev up Myles Garrett to get to Brock Purdy on the other side of Trent Williams. Garrett's pressure can contain Purdy from pushing the ball downfield to his wide receivers and tight end George Kittle. But then Christian McCaffrey will a key factor on shorter passes in open field. Sheduer Sanders gets a big break seeing a 49ers defense without Nick Bosa or Fred Warner. San Franicsco grinds this out with plenty of CMC and a takeaway or two.
Pick: 49ers win 20-14 but fail to cover the spread.

Jaguars (-6.5, 42 o/u) at Titans
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS
The Jaguars are getting some concerning play from veteran QB No 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence, who tends to grind through early issues to save flashes for last. But can lean on the running game and defense a little more in Nashville. Titans rookie No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward keeps looking a little more impressive every week despite being short on healthy young weapons. Ward plays another solid game at home with Jacksonville performing another road escape.
Pick: Jaguars win 23-20 but fail to cover the spread.
Saints at Dolphins (-6, 41.5 o/u)
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
Mike McDaniel is feeling loose and confident in his offense again. He'll cook up a few more things around Tua Tagovailoa after the bye, but at this rate, just De'Von Achane and Jaylen Waddle give them more pop than the Saints, who are down to Chris Olave as their savviest receiver with Alvin Kamara hurting. Miami's defense will keep playing hard vs. Tyler Shough, who gets put in more uncomfortable situations.
Pick: Dolphins win 24-14 and cover the spread.
Falcons (-2.5, 39.5 o/u) at Jets
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
Jeff Ulbrich was the Jets' interim coach last season and now has taken his defensive play-calling acumen back to Atlanta. The Falcons have the pass rush and secondary to make this a rough home game for Tyrod Taylor. Kirk Cousins will do his best to audition for the Jets' starting QB job this season with plenty of support from Bijan Robinson.
Pick: Falcons win 23-20 and cover the spread.
Cardinals at Buccaneers (-2.5, 45.5 o/u)
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
This is looking like the classic matchup of journeymen backup QBs, Jacoby Brissett vs. Teddy Bridgewater with Baker Mayfield (shoulder) iffy to play and fellow former No. 1 overall pick from Oklahoma Kyler Murray on the shelf. The Cards and Bucs have been decimated by offensive skill injuries with the QBs not being immune. Arizona has been tough with Brissett but the winning results aren't there. Bridgewater will do his best to lean on the run and get help from a more inspired defense at home.
Pick: Buccaneers win 20-17 and cover the spread.

Rams (-10, 46 o/u) at Panthers
Sunday 1 p.m. ET, Fox
The Rams have some division work to do in the NFC but they'll rip into an overmatched and outcoached South team for second straight week. Carolina can't cover both Puka Nacua and Davante Adams and also will give chunks in the running game to Kyren Williams. The Rams' defense then will swarm and make it rough on Bryce Young and his backs.
Pick: Rams win 34-14 and cover the spread.
Vikings at Seahawks (-9.5, 42 o/u)
Sunday 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox
The Vikings are seeing a sinking offensive ship with second-year QB J.J. McCarthy having major struggles. That will feel worse to see former starter Sam Darnold winning big and playing well for Seattle. The Seahawks field the offense with the true balance and explosiveness in this matchup, with Darnold giving Jaxon Smith-Njigba the treatment Justin Jefferson wishes he still had.
Pick: Seahawks win 30-20 and cover the spread.
Raiders at Chargers (-9.5, 41 o/u)
Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
Jim Harbaugh should have his team refocused after that Jaguars' road debacle before the bye. The Raiders' defense is falling apart and the offense just made a coordinator change from Chip Kelly. The explosiveness of the Chargers' weapons around Justin Herbert come through more with a needed big rushing effort at home.
Pick: Chargers win 30-17 and cover the spread.
Broncos (-6.5, 43.5 o/u) at Commanders
Sunday 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC/Peacock
The Broncos are coming off a bye and going on a long road trip. The Commander were also off in Week 12 and hoping Jayden Daniels can return to spark them in a second-year QB duel with Bo Nix. Look for Washington's defense to play inspired to keep the team in it, Denver's defense will the typical bigger factor with the pass rush.
Pick: Broncos win 23-17 but fail to cover the spread.
