NFL Draft: Canadians who have been drafted since 2000

The 2021 NFL Draft was a good one for Canadians as a record-tying four players were selected. 

In 2014, four players from the north heard their names called — including 2020 Super Bowl champ Laurent Duvernay-Tardif — to set the mark. In 2021, Jevon Holland, Benjamin St-Juste, Josh Palmer and Chuba Hubbard joined the pro ranks via the draft.

Holland was the first player called when he went in the second round (36th overall) to the Dolphins. The last time a Canadian was selected in the first round was in 2019 when wide receiver N'Keal Harry went to the Patriots. Harry was just the fourth Canadian to go in the top 32, along with Danny Watkins (Eagles), Tim Biakabutuka (Panthers) and the second overall pick in 1989, Tony Mandarich (Packers).

With the four players this year, 67 players since 1966 have been taken in the draft, including David Onyemata, who is not Canadian but did attend the University of Manitoba.
