Big Blue will have a lot to chew on come the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Giants are entering a pivotal year that could determine the direction of the franchise for the next five. With Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and other Dave Gettleman holdovers entering a crucial stage, new general manager Joe Schoen and new head coach Brian Daboll have decisions to make. Will they give these players a legitimate chance in 2022, or will they rip off the Band-Aid this offseason?

The Giants are fortunate that Gettleman left them snacks in the cupboard. The new New York regime is sitting pretty with two first-round picks, with the extra selection coming courtesy of the 2021 draft night trade with the Bears. (Chicago selected Justin Fields after moving up.) As an added bonus, both picks are inside the top 10.

Here's what the Giants are working with heading into April 28:

Giants draft needs

The Giants are sitting pretty with five picks in the top 100. Here's what they need:

  • Running back: Yes, Saquon Barkley is still rostered, but Barkley's name has been floated in trade rumors since Joe Schoen took the job in East Rutherford. If nothing else, the Giants could use the depth.
  • Tight end: Brian Daboll's offensive scheme doesn't rely on the tight end as much as others, but Ricky Seals-Jones is the current TE1 on New York's depth chart. They could certainly use help there.
  • Offensive line: Andrew Thomas has been ascending the last two seasons, but they still need help all over the line, particularly at right tackle.
  • Edge rusher: Azeez Ojulari gave the pass rush some juice as a rookie in 2021, but the group as a whole is thin. The Giants should be able to snag a top edge rusher with one of their first two picks in the first round.
