The Detroit Lions have a new concern ahead of their Week 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions announced on Thursday morning that left tackle Taylor Decker is now questionable to play on Christmas Day due to an illness.
"Lions T Taylor Decker (illness) has been added to the Game Status Report and is Questionable for today’s game vs. Minnesota," the Lions said.
Decker isn't the only Lions player battling an illness ahead of kickoff, as running back David Montgomery is also questionable to play due to being sick.
However, Montgomery is reportedly expected to suit up.
While players usually play through an illness, it's very concerning that Decker is just now popping up on the injury report, so his chances of sitting out due to his sickness are increased.
That said, Decker is a gamer and with the Lions battling for their playoff lives on Thursday, we would be shocked if he doesn't at least give it a go.
Decker's status will be confirmed when the Lions release their list of inactives an hour and a half before the 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Thursday afternoon.
If Decker can't go, we would assume veteran swing tackle Dan Skipper will get the nod, as he's the next man up on the Lions' depth chart.
