Jakobi Meyers trade details: Jaguars acquire disgruntled WR from Raiders in deadline deal image

Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers took the Raiders' denial of his preseason trade request in stride, but he still wanted to be moved ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

"Oh, for sure," he told reporters in October when asked whether he still wanted to be traded. Before the buzzer sounded, he received his wish.

The Raiders traded Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, giving Trevor Lawrence a new weapon for the stretch run. Las Vegas initially held onto Meyers due at least partly to a thin wide receiver corps, but at 2-6, a deadline trade seemed to make the most sense for both sides.

Here are the full details of the deal that sends Meyers to the Jaguars.

Jakobi Meyers trade details

Jaguars receive:

  • WR Jakobi Meyers

Raiders receive:

  • 4th-round pick
  • 6th-round pick

The Jaguars are sending fourth and sixth-round picks to the Raiders in exchange for the 28-year-old Meyers.

Initially a feel-good story with the New England Patriots after going from undrafted to starter, Meyers signed with the Raiders ahead of the 2023 season and posted his first 1,000-yard season in 2024. The North Carolina State product has put up at least 800 yards in each of the last four seasons and has 352 yards through seven games this season without a touchdown.

The Raiders' wide receiver corps was already thin after Davante Adams was traded in 2024, but TE Brock Bowers has emerged as Geno Smith's top target when healthy, and second-year WR Tre Tucker outperformed Meyers over the first half of the year.

Jakobi Meyers contract

Meyers is in the final year of a three-year, $33 million deal he signed with the Raiders in 2023. He carries a $4.3 million dead cap hit for 2026 that the Raiders would have had to absorb regardless after restructuring his contract.

The Jaguars entered the season feeling confident about their re-tooled wide receiver room with Travis Hunter and Dyami Brown joining Brian Thomas Jr., but Thomas has been more inconsistent after a terrific rookie year and Hunter was recently placed on IR with a knee injury.

While Parker Washington and Dyami Brown have each seen regular targets from Lawrence, Meyers gives Jacksonville one more proven receiver as they try to position themselves for a playoff push.
