The stars will be out Friday night when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil.

Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones and Justin Herbert are sure to draw plenty of attention in South America's largest city. The same goes for Kansas City and Los Angeles' coaches, Andy Reid and Jim Harbaugh. That’s not to mention Taylor Swift, who could make the trip to Brazil to root for Kelce, her newly minted fiancé.

The contest is shaping up to feature an intriguing cast of characters, and that’s not limited to on-field personnel. Thousands of miles away from Corinthians Arena, another star is set to make his mark during the spectacle: streaming titan IShowSpeed.

Here’s what you need to know about the famed YouTuber’s involvement in the Chiefs and Chargers broadcast.

The Kansas City and Los Angeles' Week 1 clash from São Paulo will be aired exclusively on YouTube. Fans can access the match on the NFL's official YouTube channel.

IShowSpeed, the famed streamer known for his athletic gifts, love of Cristiano Ronaldo and assortment of hijinks, will lend his charm to an alternative broadcast. The stream will be available to watch on his channel starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Speed (real name Darren Watkins) has been on a countrywide tour of the United States, making stops in Philadelphia, New York City, Washington DC and, most recently, Boston. The 20-year old should have plenty to offer during the stream, which will be broadcast to his 43.6 million followers.

Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner will lead the main stream's broadcast crew, serving as the play-by-play announcer and analyst for Friday's contest. Terry McAulay will dish out refereeing expertise as the broadcast's rule analyst, while Stacey Dales will fire off updates from the sidelines. Deestroying, a former kickoff specialist at UCF who has become on of the country's biggest sports-related content creators, is set to contribute to the broadcast as a "sideline creator."

It's unclear whether Speed will have any special guests on his alternative stream.

Who is IShowSpeed?

IShowSpeed is a 20-year-old YouTuber who first gained attention streaming video games on his channel. He has since become one of the world’s biggest streamers, with more than 43 million subscribers as of Sept. 5, 2025.

Speed has long shown a passion for sports, both as a viewer and participant. He regularly competes in charity soccer matches and raced Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles in 2024. He has also developed friendships with a number of sports stars, including Ronaldo, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and cricket standout Virat Kohli.

Speed is not without his controversies. He was banned from Twitch for "sexual coercion or intimidation" after he made comments during a Twitch "e-date" show that appeared to be alleged threats of sexual assault, according to Dexerto. He also reportedly told a female player to "do your husband's dishes" while streaming a game in 2022, per Insider. Later that year, Speed confronted a Chinese spectator wearing an Argentina jersey during a World Cup match in Qatar and repeatedly said "Konnichiwa" (translated to "good afternoon" or "good day" in English) at the man, along with other sounds that appeared to mock Cantonese and Mandarin, according to Dot eSports. He apologized for both incidents. He's also shown a passion for social causes in recent years.
