There may only be three wins combined between the two franchises this season, but both Dallas and Washington are firmly entrenched in playoff position as someone has to win the NFC East.

The Cowboys (2-4) amazingly sit atop the division, but are coming off their most embarrassing performance of the year, a 38-10 demolition by Arizona on "Monday Night Football". Andy Dalton got his first start as a Cowboy, filling in for the injured Dak Prescott, and threw a pair of interceptions along with a touchdown. Ezekiel Elliott lost two fumbles, which has been a problem for the star running back. Elliott is tied for an NFL-high five fumbles, alongside Carson Wentz, Joe Burrow and Derek Carr. Dallas' offensive line was already without Tyron Smith, Joe Looney and La'El Collins, but could also be without Brandon Knight and perennial All-Pro guard Zack Martin in Week 7.

Washington (1-5) lost a nail-biter of a game in Week 6 to the Giants when coach Ron Rivera unsuccessfully opted to go for two points and the at the end of the regulation, rather than kick the extra point and force overtime. Kyle Allen will get his third start of the season in place of a bench Dwayne Haskins. A bright spot on the Washington defense has been cornerback Kendall Fuller who leads the league with four interceptions.

Both teams have another crucial divisional game in Week 8 with the Cowboys playing the Eagles and Washington playing New York. Dallas and Washington meet again on Thanksgiving.
