Joe Burrow and Ezekiel Elliot

The Cowboys and Bengals both entered the 2022 NFL season with high expectations.

Dak Prescott's Cowboys finished last season with a 12-5 record and led the NFL in total offense, while Joe Burrow's Cincinnati squad was coming off a spectacular run to the Super Bowl. But the question for these two teams after Week 1 is, who flopped harder?

Dallas came out shockingly flat in a 19-3 season-opening loss to Tom Brady and the Bucs. Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot and CeeDee Lamb never got anything going on offense, failing to find the end zone for the first time since Week 11 last year. To make matters worse, Prescott left the game with a hand injury which could keep him out for several weeks

Perhaps the lone bright spot from Week 1 in Big D was reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons, who registered a pair of sacks on Brady.

Meanwhile, the Bengals somehow snatched a defeat from the jaws of victory against their hated division rivals, the Steelers.

Joe Burrow had the worst game of his NFL career to date, throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble. Despite this, he still put his team in position to win in the final moments.

Burrow found Ja'Marr Chase on a touchdown to tie the game as time expired, giving the kicking unit a chance to win it with an extra point. But an injury to the Bengals' usual long-snapper had the group out of sorts, leading to the PAT being blocked. They wasted another golden opportunity in overtime, as Evan McPherson hooked a second potential game-winner wide left from just 29 yards out.

It was a gut-wrenching loss for last season's Super Bowl runners-up, and they'll be hoping for a bounceback win on their trip to the Lone Star State.
