The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Maryland to face the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day.
Both these NFC East teams are eliminated from postseason contention. However, they'll be the opening act for the NFL on Christmas.
The Cowboys' season was a tale of two sides of the ball. The Dallas offense was one of the more exciting units in the entire league. With Dak Prescott playing at an elite level, throwing the ball to both CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, it was thrilling to watch the Cowboys' offensive attack.
However, their defense was one of the worst in the NFL. It got so bad that Jerry Jones brought in some defensive assets to help the struggling unit. While it seemed to improve the defense's overall state, it was not enough to save their season.
As for the Commanders, it was an unlucky season to say the least. Every week it felt like another key player on their team was injured. Whether it was Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Austin Ekeler and the list goes on.
While neither team has anything to gain, there's always a level of effort for divisional games.
