In an NFL season full of surprises, Atlanta sitting first place in the NFC South almost halfway into the year has to be one of the biggest.

Against all odds, the Falcons' 4-4 record has them on top of their division — one game clear of the Buccaneers and Saints. It hasn't always been pretty, but Arthur Smith and his team have been able to grind out some wins with a run-focused offensive scheme.  They'll look to stay there as they welcome Justin Herbert and the Chargers to town this weekend.

Atlanta's chaotic game against the Panthers last week saw both teams combine for three touchdowns in the final 3:06 of regulation. Carolina's kicker, Eddy Pineiro, had two chances to win the game but he yanked both left to keep the Falcons' hopes alive. With the clock running down in overtime, Younghoe Koo booted it through from 41 yards out to clinch a win.

The Chargers were on bye last weekend, but their most recent game was a difficult loss to the Seahawks in Week 7.

A poor first quarter left Herbert and his offense down 17-0 and fighting an uphill battle. Despite the former Offensive Rookie of the Year's best efforts, Los Angeles couldn't catch up after that. The 37-23 loss dropped the team to 3-5, one game behind the Chiefs for first place in the AFC West.

Here's everything you need to know to watch Chargers vs. Falcons in Week 9, including kickoff time, TV channels, live stream info and the full 2022 NFL schedules for both teams.
