There is no questioning Bill Belichick's place in NFL history. His frosty demeanor might have rubbed some the wrong way at times, but his system worked: the Patriots won six championships in Belichick's 24 years in Foxborough, establishing themselves as the class of the NFL.

Belichick is onto new ventures now as the head coach at North Carolina, trying his hand at college football, and he's bringing his massive brand with him.

While Belichick's cold public persona might not have been conducive to many endorsement deals, he has made plenty of money for himself over the years as one of the most intimidating coaches in football.

Here's what you need to know about Belichick's net worth and career earnings.

Belichick has an estimated net worth of $70 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

It can be tricky to track down an NFL head coach's salary, but there is no doubt Belichick was one of the highest-paid coaches in the league during much of his 24 seasons with the Patriots. Since parting ways with New England, Belichick spent nearly a year doing frequent media appearances and, in December 2024, signed a lucrative contract to become the head coach at North Carolina.

While NFL head coaches don't often have their salaries publicly disclosed, numerous outlets reported during the latter portion of Belichick's 24-year run with the Patriots that he was among the league's highest-paid head coaches, if not leading the list.

Bloomberg claimed in 2024 that Belichick had possibly made as much as $200 million with the Patriots, while Sportico estimated Belichick's annual salary as $25 million in 2023 but admitted the details of the future Hall of Famer's deal were "closely guarded within a small circle."

In addition to 24 years with the Patriots, Belichick spent five seasons as the Browns' head coach in the 1990s and 10 as a defensive coordinator between multiple stops in an era in which coaching salaries were much lower than they are today.

Belichick is set to make $10 million each season at North Carolina. While the coach's base salary is only $1 million, he is set to make $9 million in supplemental income based on events and engagements before performance-based bonuses.

While Belichick's Tar Heels contract hasn't contributed much to his net worth or career earnings at this point, he could rake in $50 million if he serves out all five years of his deal; only the initial three years are guaranteed.

Belichick doesn't exactly have the infectious personality that might make him the best fit to do commercial after commercial, but the mystery that surrounded his persona during his time with the Patriots perhaps made him even more compelling for companies that brought him on as an ambassador.

In his year away from coaching, Belichick started to branch out — even appearing in a Dunkin commercial that ran during Super Bowl 59.

Belichick has appeared in multiple ads for Subway, and he also made on-screen appearances in commercials for DoorDash and Underdog Fantasy. Here are his most notable commercials.

Bill Belichick business ventures & philanthropy

Belichick may seem hard-nosed on the outside, but he has done work for his communities throughout his coaching career.

The Bill Belichick Foundation was founded "to provide coaching, mentorship, and financial support to individuals, communities, and organizations" with a focus on lacrosse in addition to football. Belichick, meanwhile, has funded a scholarship at his alma mater of Wesleyan University along with Annapolis High School. Belishick is a major financial supporter of the Naval Academy, where his dad coached football.

On the personal side, Belichick owns a 24-foot boat and has participated in numerous coaches clinics, including clinics at Notre Dame, the University of Washington and with the Baltimore Ravens during his season out of football.

Where does Bill Belichick live?

Belichick owns multiple properties, including a house in Hingham, Mass. that he purchased for $1.4 million in 2006. The home includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms along with a media room and wine cellar.

While his professional days in New England are done, Belichick purchased a $4.8 million vacation home in Nantucket, Mass. in 2024. He previously owned another Nantucket home that was given to his ex-wife during divorce proceedings. Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, also purchased three homes in late 2023, all of which are in the Boston area.

For the cold-weather months, Belichick can head down to a condo in Jupiter, Fla. that he purchased in 2009.

One would have to imagine Belichick will find some property near Chapel Hill as long as he is coaching at North Carolina, but his plans to live in the area aren't yet clear.
