Ashton Jeanty stats today: Raiders RB tears Bears defense apart en route to first multi-TD game image

Ashton Jeanty had himself a day against the Chicago Bears.

The Las Vegas Raiders tailback's usage became a talking point in the opening three weeks of the season, with Jeanty calling upon head coach Pete Carroll to get him more involved in the offense.

Message received. Jeanty enjoyed a day to remember against Chicago, reminding Raiders and NFL enthusiasts alike of his gleaming potential.

With that, here's a look at the numbers behind Jeanty's big day.

MORE WEEK 4:

Ashton Jeanty stats today

Final score: Bears 25, Raiders 24

  • Rushes: 21
  • Rushing yards: 138
  • Rushing TDs: 1
  • Catches: 2
  • Receiving yards: 17
  • Receiving TDs: 2

Jeanty struggled mightily in the first three games of his career, averaging less than four yards a carry in each match.

The Raiders went back to the well on Sunday, involving their highly-regarded tailback early and often against the Bears. Their decision was an inspired one; Jeanty produced two scores in the opening 30 minutes. The first came on an eight-yard toss from Geno Smith, while the second saw Jeanty burst through the mire before racing 64 yards to pay dirt.

Jeanty approached 100 yards of total offense in the first half. He added more highlights in the third, corralling yet another Smith target to collect his third score of the contest.

All told, Sunday represented a good day at the office for Jeanty. That should inspire Las Vegas enthusiasts and fantasy owners alike.

Ashton Jeanty highlights vs. Bears

Jeanty hasn't produced a ton of highlights in his early career. He collected plenty on Sunday, though, torching Chicago's weary defense en route to his first multiple TD game.

Jeanty started his scoring in the first period, fielding a lofted pass from Smith before creeping into the end zone from eight yards out.

He enjoyed another Kodak moment one quarter later, finding a hole and prancing some 64 yards to the end zone.

His third touchdown resembled his first; the rookie teamed up once more with Smith, this time nine yards out.

The Raiders weren't able to hold on against the Bears on Sunday night. But Jeanty's showing should breathe life into Las Vegas' fanbase — both in the present and future.
