Aaron Rodgers is as fascinating of an individual off the football field as he was a dominant quarterback on it during his prime.

The four-time NFL MVP and future Hall of Famer is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in NFL history and made the Packers a perennial contender over the course of his decade-long peak, even if Green Bay only fulfilled its Super Bowl hopes once. That success was enough to make Rodgers one of the faces of the NFL, but he hasn't always approached his life and career the way a face of the NFL would.

From controversial stances and comments to feuds with media members and even his own family, Rodgers prides himself on being authentic — even if it rubs some the wrong way.

Here's a closer look at Rodgers' family, including his wife and estranged parents.

Aaron Rodgers dad: Ed Rodgers

Rodgers' father, Ed, is originally from Texas and works as a chiropractor. As of 2025, Ed continues to promote his practice on social media.

Ed also played football as an offensive lineman at Chico State University in California. His chiropractor business is located in Chico today.

Rodgers and his father have largely been estranged for more than a decade. When Aaron's brother, Jordan, appeared on "The Bachlorette," the then-Packers quarterback was notably absent. When the absence inevitably came up in conversation, Ed said, "Fame can change things."

In 2023, Ed purchased a ticket to a celebrity golf tournament his son was competing in, in hopes of starting to reconcile their relationship. In a book, Aaron said he spotted his father and decided to speak to him.

"I just thought, 'What’s best in this moment, and what kind of gift could I give him?' Because I do love him," Aaron said. "I don’t have animosity toward him, even with all the stuff that’s been said and done."

The two briefly embraced and told each other, "I love you," though their relationship remained tenuous as of 2024.

"Every time I think it’s getting closer some weird things happen," Rodgers said while discussion their meeting. "But I would like a relationship with my dad for sure."

Aaron Rodgers mom: Darla Rodgers

Rodgers' mother, Darla, has largely kept a low profile about her background, but she remains estranged from her son.

In rare public comments, Darla said in a 2024 book that Aaron's ex-girlfriend Olivia Munn was at least partly at the root of the family's discord. Darla claimed Munn planted doubt in her son's mind about the family and their intentions before even meeting them.

"I can think about showbiz families that, like the Kardashians, climb all over each other for fame and stuff like that. But that’s not our family," Darla said. "Nobody did that."

Darla married her husband, Ed, in 1980, and the two remain together.

Aaron Rodgers brother: Jordan Rodgers

Rodgers' younger brother, Jordan, is a college football and UFL analyst for ESPN, having worked at the network since 2016. He spent three seasons as a quarterback at Vanderbilt, starting in 2011 and 2012, before brief stints with the Jaguars, Buccaneers and Dolphins. Jordan never appeared in an NFL game.

Aaron and Jordan do not have a relationship, with reports indicating Aaron stopped speaking to his immediate family in late 2014. While Jordan hasn't always been quick to address the rift, he publicly called out his brother in 2018, when Aaron promoted the recovery efforts following wildfires that affected the family's hometown.

"But when your own Mom is home alone during the fires, car packed ready to evacuate [and] you miss the fundamental first step of compassion; calling your parents to make sure they are safe … Everything else just feels like an act," Jordan tweeted.

Jordan Rodgers on The Bachelorette

Jordan gained notoriety in 2016, when he appeared on TV dating show "The Bachlorette."

Jordan won the season, successfully proposing to Joelle Fletcher. While not all relationships from "The Bachelor" or "The Bachlorette" last long, the two married in 2022 after a pandemic-related delay and remain together.

The show also shined a spotlight on the discord between Aaron and the rest of his immediate family. The family left two empty chairs at the table when they met Fletcher, alluding to Aaron's absence, and Aaron's father briefly spoke about his estrangement from his son.

In a 2024 Netflix documentary, Aaron blasted his family for the decision and claimed Jordan only went on the show to "get famous."

"They go on a bulls— show and leave two empty chairs," Rodgers said. "They all agree that this was a good thing to do, to leave two empty chairs on a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous?"

Aaron Rodgers brother: Luke Rodgers

Rodgers also has an older brother, Luke, though Luke is not as much of a public figure as Jordan.

Aaron is also estranged from Luke. Wen he was invited to a friend's wedding in 2015 in which Luke was the best man, Aaron chose not to attend when he learned his parents would be in attendance. Luke appeared to take a shot at Aaron with an Instagram hashtag "#truefriendsshowup" when he posted photos from the wedding, and the two have not had a relationship since.

Luke married his wife, Aimee, in 2019. Jordan served as his best man, but there was no indication Aaron was present.

Aaron Rodgers wife: Brittani Rodgers

While his decision to join the Steelers stole the headlines in 2025, Rodgers broke some news when he announced he was married to a woman named Brittani. Rodgers said in June 2025 that he got married "a couple of months ago," but he didn't disclose any details about his wife other than her name.

As far as invitations go, his brother Jordan didn't get one. "Jordan and [his wife] didn't go to the wedding and don't even know anything really about Brittani," the Daily Mail reported.

In July 2025, Rodgers spoke glowingly about his wife without revealing any more details about her identity. "To have that person who loves you unconditionally behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world," Rodgers told Sports Illustrated, calling Brittani "the most incredible wife."

"I just really love her and I’m so grateful to have her by my side at the end," Rodgers said. "When you have that stability and that rock behind you at the house, you feel like you could do anything."

After high-profile relationships with Munn and Shailene Woodley, Rodgers appears set on keeping his marriage as private as possible.

Where is Aaron Rodgers from?

Rodgers was born and raised in Chico, California, and attended Butte College in his home county before transferring to the University of California-Berkeley and emerging as a premier NFL prospect.

While Rodgers grew up a 49ers fan and continues to spend most of his offseason in California, he has never played for a team in his home state. Rodgers spent the bulk of his career up in Green Bay in a Packers uniform before joining the Jets in 2023 and ultimately the Steelers in 2025.
