New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson hasn't appeared in a game since Week 10.
After suffering a knee injury earlier in the season, Wilson re-aggravated the issue in Week 10 and that led to his being placed on injured reserve, meaning he had to miss at least four games.
Wilson was eligible to return last week, but the Jets did not so much as designate him to return from injured reserve, let alone activate him.
Here's what we know about his chances of playing in the Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Will Garrett Wilson return in Week 16?
Wilson was initially given a timeline of "at least 3-4 weeks" after suffering his knee injury, and with his four-week minimum stay on injured reserve up, we would say Wilson's chances of returning are slightly better than 50/50.
Unfortunately, there just aren't a lot of details out there when it comes to Wilson's possible return date, so that's why we aren't more optimistic.
Head coach Aaron Glenn didn't address Wilson's status on Monday. Here's what he said about the Jets' No. 1 wide receiver last week:
"Those conversations are going to be with the doc and are going to be with Garrett and once we nail down those conversations, a decision will be made after that," the Jets head coach said of Wilson.
The Jets' season is over after they were eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago, so on the surface it doesn't make much sense to bring Wilson back.
However, we know that Glenn is very competitive and isn't keen on losing every game from here on out, so that gives the Jets motivation to bring Wilson back.
With no update on Monday, we won't know more about Wilson until Wednesday, which is typically the day players have their practice windows opened.
If New York doesn't open Wilson's then, it's likely he'll be out another week.
