The New York Jets are making a huge change to their team at the 2025 NFL trade deadline. New York is trading Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts as part of a blockbuster trade deadline deal.
With a player as talented as Gardner, the Jets are landing a massive package in return from the Colts. As the Colts go all-in on 2025, the Jets are landing a very strong and intriguing package.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets are getting two first-round picks from the Colts for Gardner. But those aren't the only pieces coming back to the Jets in this deal.
What did the Jets get in return for the Sauce Gardner blockbuster trade with the Colts?
Schefter reports the Jets are landing two first-round picks for Gardner, with both of those selections coming in the 2026 and 2027 NFL drafts, respectively.

Micah Parsons was traded by the Dallas Cowboys for two first-round picks, and the Jets followed suit with their own blockbuster trade.
But, just like how the Cowboys got a player back, the Jets are also getting someone else in return for Gardner. According to Jay Glazer of NFL on Fox, the Jets are getting Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.

Mitchell was drafted in he second round of the 2024 NFL draft at 52nd overall. But, after a brutal mistake, where he fumbled the ball out of the endzone on what should've been a long touchdown, he saw his playing time significantly decrease.
But, with this trade, the Jets are now taking a flier that the former Texas Longhorns receiver can rediscover what made him such a highly touted prospect.

So far this season, Mitchell has nine catches on 16 targets for 152 yards and no touchdowns. In 2024, he caught 23 passes for 312 yards and no touchdowns.
The 23-year-old receiver is the player coming attached to two first-rounders in the blockbuster Gardner trade. While Gardner and the two first-round picks will take center stage, the addition of Mitchell is a good one for the Jets.
New York's trade deadline is off to a bang, with a stunning trade of Gardner to the Colts. Not only did the Jets land Mitchell and two firsts for Gardner, but the Colts are also taking on all of Gardner's $120.4 million contract.
