Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and there are several injured players with fantasy football relevance to keep an eye on.
Friday is a big day for NFL injury news, as teams place injury designations on players ahead of the games on Sunday. The only teams not putting injury designations on players are the teams that play on Monday night.
This week, that's the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks, all of whom will drop their final injury reports on Saturday.
Also bear in mind, there will be no injury updates from the Buffalo Bills or Baltimore Ravens, both of whom are on a bye this week.
There is a laundry list of players we'll be keeping an eye on for Friday. You can track all of the latest updates on fantasy-relevant players below.
To keep things organized, we'll list player updates in alphabetical order.
Brock Bowers injury update
The Raiders tight end (knee) is back at practice on Friday, marking his first practice participation since Week 5. This gives Bowers a chance to suit up, but we'll know more later in the day when Las Vegas drops its final injury report.
Jalen Coker injury update
Coker (quad) is listed as questionable on Carolina's injury report but he is going to play, ESPN's David Newton reported. Coker is a player to stash on the bench, but we wouldn't suggest putting him in lineups this week.
Stefon Diggs injury update
Diggs (chest) returned to a full practice on Friday, but he has drawn a questionable tag for Week 7. However, the fact that he logged a full session on Friday indicates he's going to play.
Josh Downs injury update
Downs (concussion) has officially been ruled out for Week 7, head coach Shane Steichen told reporters. That should mean more targets for Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce.
Emeka Egbuka injury update
The rookie wide receiver (hamstring) is not on the practice field once again on Friday, as expected. Fantasy owners need to have a replacement ready to roll, but we wouldn't suggest anyone on the Bucs other than Mike Evans as a viable starter.
Mike Evans injury update
Evans (hamstring) is not practicing on Friday, according to The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, but that's because it's a "scheduled day off" for the veteran wideout, who returned to practice for the first time in weeks on Thursday.
Evans is still on track to suit up, although we'll be keeping an eye out for Tampa Bay's final injury report on Saturday to make sure.
Chris Godwin injury update
Godwin (fibula) is not practicing on Friday once again, but that was expected to be the case. The veteran wide receiver will sit out his second straight game.
When it comes to other options on the Bucs' roster, we wouldn't recommend guys like Tez Johnson, Kameron Johnson or Sterling Shepard. Cade Otton is a strong play, though, with Godwin and Egbuka likely out.
Marvin Harrison Jr. injury update
UPDATE: Harrison Jr. practiced in full and was removed from the injury report for Week 7.
Consider him a flex option, even if Murray sits and Brissett starts.
END OF UPDATE
Harrison Jr. (concussion) is no longer in a yellow non-contact jersey at practice, so that's a sign he has progressed through the concussion protocol and will play, although that has yet to be confirmed.
We'll know more when the Cardinals drop their injury report later in the day.
Chuba Hubbard injury update
The Panthers have removed Hubbard (calf) from the injury report and he is good to go for Week 7. Head coach Dave Canales said the team has made a decision on who will start but is not revealing that decision publicly.
ESPN's David Newton adds that since Hubbard was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, that could be a sign that Dowdle gets the start.
Because Hubbard is coming back from injury, it's possible his reps will be limited. We feel better about Dowdle as a fantasy lineup option than Hubbard this week.
Bucky Irving injury update
Irving (foot, shoulder) is not at practice on Friday and remains on track to sit out another game. The Bucs will drop their final injury report on Saturday and that will likely confirm Irving's impending absence.
Fire up Rachaad White for another week.
Josh Jacobs injury update
Jacobs (illness, calf) has a questionable tag for Sunday but due to the fact that he logged a full practice on Friday, he should be good to go.
Jauan Jennings injury update
Jennings (ankle, rib, shoulder) carries no designation for Sunday. He's a flex option, albeit a shaky one after last week's dud and with George Kittle coming back.
Quentin Johnston injury update
Johnston (hamstring) practiced in full and was removed from the injury report, so he'll make his return in Week 7.
Fire Johnston up as a high-end WR2 play.
Alvin Kamara injury update
Kamara is officially good to go after logging a full practice on Friday and being removed from the injury report. However, he's nothing more than a shaky flex option for Week 7.
George Kittle injury update
Kittle (hamstring) will make his return to the field in Week 7, the team revealed. He is not expected to have a limited snap count, so fire Kittle up as a TE1, per usual.
CeeDee Lamb injury update
Lamb (ankle) turned in a full practice on Friday after being limited the two days prior and has been removed from the injury report, which confirms he'll make his return on Sunday. Fire Lamb up as a WR1.
J.J. McCarthy injury update
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has confirmed that McCarthy (ankle) will not play in Week 7 and Carson Wentz will start again.
You weren't starting McCarthy, anyway, but this is great news for Justin Jefferson, who has broken 120 yards in each of the last two games with Wentz under center.
Terry McLaurin injury update
UPDATE: Head coach Dan Quinn has ruled McLaurin out for Week 7.
The only other viable starting option for fantasy football is Deebo Samuel, but he's uncertain to play. Chris Moore, Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane could all get more action with McLaurin sidelined, but all three are a toss-up.
We'd rank them, from best to worst, Moore, McCaffrey and then Lane.
END OF UPDATE
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, there is "real uncertainty" surrounding McLaurin's (quad) Week 7 status after he was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday.
McLaurin was spotted during the open portion of practice but didn't have his helmet on. Head coach Dan Quinn should provide an update after practice.
Jakobi Meyers injury update
After sitting out the first two days of the week, Meyers (knee, toe) is back at practice on Friday, which puts him on track to play.
We'll have a better idea of where he stands when the Raiders drop their final injury report of the week later in the day.
Darnell Mooney injury update
Mooney was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday before sitting out at practice on Friday and drawing a questionable tag. The lack of practice on Friday suggests he won't suit up.
Outside of Drake London, there is no other fantasy-relevant wideout on Atlanta's roster.
DJ Moore injury update
Moore was a full participant in practice on Friday and has been removed from the injury report. He's good to go for Sunday, but his lackluster production this year makes him a fringe flex option, at best, in Week 7.
Kyler Murray injury update
UPDATE: Murray was limited for a third straight day and is questionable for Week 7. Murray did more this week than last, which gives him a better chance to suit up, but a full practice would've given us more optimism for his status.
If Murray can't go, Brissett would get the start once again. Brissett finished as QB7 overall last week, which at least puts him on the starting radar, but he's also got a tough matchup against a good Packers defense. You can probably find a more reliable option with only two teams on bye.
END OF UPDATE
Murray (foot) is working with the scout team on Friday while Jacoby Brissett is working with the starters. That would seem to indicate Murray won't play, but nobody has confirmed that yet.
Puka Nacua injury update
According to Nate Atkins of The Athletic, head coach Sean McVay revealed that Nacua (ankle) is out for Week 7. Now, the hope is that Nacua returns after the bye.
Davante Adams will be the No. 1 target for Matthew Stafford and becomes an even more desirable starter this week. Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell will also be getting a bump, although neither one can be trusted in fantasy lineups.
David Njoku injury update
Njoku (knee) has been ruled out for Week 7. Rookie Harold Fannin has been pretty good this season, but we wouldn't recommend starting him with Dillon Gabriel under center.
Ricky Pearsall injury update
Pearsall (knee) will miss his third straight game. Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are both flex options, but shakier ones with George Kittle back.
Brock Purdy injury update
Purdy (toe) is out once again this week, which means Mac Jones will get the start. Jones has ranked as QB13 overall the last two weeks, making him a fringe starting option in 12-team leagues.
Calvin Ridley injury update
The Titans have ruled out Ridley (hamstring) for Week 7. You don't want to go near any Tennessee pass-catcher at this point.
Deebo Samuel injury update
UPDATE: Samuel did log a limited practice, but is questionable for Week 7.
The fact that he was able to get some work in on Friday suggests Samuel has a good chance to suit up.
END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: Head coach Dan Quinn said Samuel was able to get some reps in on Friday, which is a positive sign for his status.
However, when asked about his availability, Samuel said, "We'll have just have to see," and he admitted the injury is "aggravating for sure," so clearly there's no guarantee he'll play.
END OF UPDATE
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that there is "real uncertainty" about Samuel's (heel) status for Week 7.
However, Samuel was working on a side field at practice on Friday, and while that signals he might be listed as a non-participant again, he did the same thing on the final day of last week before ultimately suiting up.
D'Andre Swift injury update
UPDATE: Swift has indicated that he will play on Sunday despite the questionable tag and said that his limited sessions on Thursday and Friday were more maintenance-related than anything else.
"D’Andre Swift says he will play vs. New Orleans. The groin injury is one that came from the Commanders game but isn’t one he thinks will affect him in game. He was limited on Thursday and Friday, more of a product of maintenance than anything else," ESPN's Courtney Cronin reported.
END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: Swift, who was once again limited on Friday, is officially questionable to play on Sunday, per ESPN's Courtney Cronin.
If Swift doesn't play, rookie Kyle Monangai should get the start and the majority of the touches after serving as the RB2 all season. Roschon Johnson would likely mix in behind him if Swift sits. Monangai will be a volume-based flex play.
END OF UPDATE
Head coach Ben Johnson said that Swift's groin injury is from Week 6 and not from practice on Thursday, which is good news because mid-week injuries are typically a bad sign for a player's availability. Johnson added he is "hopeful" Swift will suit up in Week 7.
Darren Waller injury update
Waller (hip, rest) logged three limited practices during the week but has been removed from the injury report and is good to go. He's a borderline TE1 play.
Garrett Wilson injury update
UPDATE: The Jets are officially listing Wilson as doubtful, which means he's highly unlikely to play.
No surprise there after the report we cited below.
END OF UPDATE
According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, Wilson (knee) won't practice on Friday and isn't going to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
The good news is, Zenitz adds, is that Wilson has a chance to play in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
With Wilson sidelined, Josh Reynolds will likely serve as the Jets' No. 1 wideout, although keep an eye on his status, as he's on the injury report this week. Reynolds did, however, upgrade his participation to limited on Thursday after not practicing Wednesday.
The Jets are probably going to lean more on Allen Lazard, but he's a question mark after sitting out last week's game with a personal issue. Rookie Arian Smith could get more run, also.
We wouldn't suggest starting any Jets receiver with how bad Justin Fields and the offense has played, but Reynolds is the best bet if you must start one.
