Coming off a brutal 2025 season, the New York Jets are looking forward to the 2026 NFL Draft and the upcoming offseason as they try to rebuild this team.

It won't be easy, but getting an NFL Draft commitment from Dante Moore or another top quarterback prospect could help make their NFL Draft decision a lot easier.

But, Todd McShay of The Todd McShay Show made a very concerning comment about the Jets. He believes that no one wants to play for the Jets, and in turn, they could miss out on a top player like Moore declaring for the draft to avoid being picked by the Jets.

NFL Draft expert makes concerning Jets comment

"I promise you not one single player in this entire draft, unless they grew up a Jets fan or have some kind of family ties, wants to be a New York Jet," McShay said.

This is a brutal description for the Jets, as if it were to be true, then Moore, Ty Simpson, Trinidad Chambliss, and most other top quarterbacks would likely want to avoid this draft class.

With the Las Vegas Raiders very likely to take Fernando Mendoza first overall, the next best quarterback with a first-round grade would end up with the Jets in New York.

But McShay's point is that no player wants to come to New York and play for the Jets. For an NFL Draft expert to make such a comment is a major red flag for the Jets this offseason.

Obviously, things aren't in an ideal spot for the Jets. But, to hear that players would potentially avoid the draft if they can, so the Jets won't take them, is a brutal indictment of the way the Jets are viewed around the sports world.

The future of the Jets franchise is at stake, and yet, not many players would willingly want to join the Jets roster to help turn them into a contender.

The Jets need to turn things around if they want to be taken more seriously by draft prospects and free agents. Build up a better offensive line, bring in exciting offensive and defensive minds, and get aggressive in setting the stage for a rookie quarterback.

McShay's concerning comments are a warning to the Jets. If they don't fix things now, and Glenn can't help bring in talent this offseason, then the future of the Jets will continue to be bleak for fans and any player drafted by the Jets.
