The New York Jets have blown up the 2025 NFL trade deadline.
Sitting at 1-7, New York has decided to start a fire sale. The team started by trading cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first-round picks and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.
Gardner wasn't the only Pro Bowl defender the Jets decided to trade away, as general manager Darren Mougey also sent defensive tackle Darren Mougey to the Dallas Cowboys for a first-round and second-round pick, along with defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
With New York making two blockbuster trades on Tuesday and securing a ton of future draft capital, let's take a look at the franchise's future draft picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts.
New York Jets future picks
2026 picks:
- Round 1
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 2

- Round 6
- Round 6
- Round 6
- Round 7
2027 picks:
- Round 1
- Round 1
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 3
- Round 4
- Round 5
- Round 6

Though Gardner and Williams are top-10 players at their positions and difference-makers, the Jets are in a rebuild and should focus on stockpiling picks. They did just that on Tuesday, as New York is now set up with five first-round picks in the next two drafts and also acquired two players with potential in the deals, Mitchell and Smith.
It's clear the Jets have given up on the 2025 season, but with the amount of draft capital the team has in the next few years, the future is trending up in New York.
