The New York Jets will have several roster holes to fill heading into the 2026 offseason, and the running back position could be one of them.
Breece Hall, the Jets' leadback for the last few seasons, is an impending free agent, and considering his attitude towards the organization amid another losing season, it's reasonable to believe he could look for a change of scenery once his contract expires.
If New York is in the market for a new running back, Bleacher Report's Alex Kay tabbed the Jets as a top landing spot for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne.

With both Hall and Etienne on the free agent market, the Jets could replace their former second-round draft pick with the Jacksonville running back.
"Etienne could be an ideal Hall replacement. The team has serious aspirations to finally snap the league's longest active playoff drought in 2026 and may not want to chance handing the backfield over to a less-proven back. Etienne is not only a similarly skilled player to Hall, but he's also a veteran who just helped lead a stunning year-over-year turnaround for a long-suffering franchise," wrote Kay.
"After slogging through a miserable 2024 season in which he posted career-low marks while missing seven games with injury, Etienne returned with a vengeance this year and helped guide the Jaguars to just their third playoff appearance since the start of the 2008 season."
If Hall does end up leaving, Etienne would be a solid replacement in the Jets' backfield.
The former Clemson star is coming off a career-best year where he posted 13 total touchdowns, more than Hall has ever had in a single season.
