The New York Jets have had a rough 2025 season, as the team is 3-13 and suffered an embarrassing 42-10 blowout loss to the New England Patriots in Week 17.

Due to New York's atrocious performance this season, head coach Aaron Glenn has been under fire. The Jets have regressed under the former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator, and Glenn isn't even coaching competitve football at this point.

Though firing Glenn and going in a different direction after just one season is something New York should be considering, it sounds like they will move into 2026 with the same head coach.

According to Albert Breer of The MMQB and Sports Illustrated, the Jets haven't had conversations on letting Glenn go, and general manager Darren Mougey is also expected to return.

"My understanding is the Jets haven’t even had discussions on letting Aaron Glenn go—on Sunday morning, we reported on the NBC Sports pregame show I’m part of in Boston that he’ll be back in 2026. GM Darren Mougey will return as well," Breer wrote.

However, Breer added that there will be some changes on the staff. The Jets fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks on Dec. 15, but more firings could be on the way after Week 18.

"That said, there certainly could be staff changes beyond what’s already happened. Maybe some pointed at quarterback decision-making over the next couple of offseasons," Breer added.

Glenn has been awful in his rookie head coaching season, but bringing him back for another year is understandable. New York has lacked stability for decades, so firing a coach after just one year would just prove how dysfunctional the franchise is.

Though he's likely safe heading into 2026, Glenn's seat is scorching hot. If the Jets start the 2026 campaign on the wrong foot, Glenn will certainly be out.
