The New York Jets are 3-12 and in the middle of a very forgettable season in Aaron Glenn's first year as the team's head coach.

One of the most frustrating stories from this Jets season came when a fan, Ashley Castanio-Gervas, was denied the chance to kick a field goal for a $100,000 prize at MetLife Field in Week 17.

After an outpouring of support for Castanio-Gervas and frustration thrown towards the Jets organization over the snub, according to Alex Mitchell of The New York Post, the Jets have reversed course and will allow Castanio-Gervas to attempt the $100K field goal.

"The Jets will now allow a diehard fan to try a $100,000 kick at MetLife this weekend after The Post reported that she got booted from the contest over a technicality," Mitchell writes.

Castanio-Gervas was initially barred from competing for the $100,000 prize due to a technicality, thanks to "an insurance technicality against coaches and recent athletes from the high school to Olympic levels."

But, the Jets announced they reversed course on the decision, and will give Castanio-Gervas a chance to win $100,000 in the "Kick for Cash" contest during Halftime of the Jets and New England Patriots Week 17 game.

"We realized there was an unfortunate misunderstanding regarding Ashley's eligibility for the contest," the Jets said in a statement to the Post, "In an effort to remedy the situation, we are allowing her to kick this Sunday for the opportunity to win the prize."

The Jets are reversing course on their initial decision to bar Castanio-Gervas from competing for the prize. Thanks in part to the outpouring of support for her from Jets fans and sports media alike on social media, the Jets made good on this situation.

During halftime of the Jets-Patriots matchup, the Jets will give Castanio-Gervas a chance to kick a field goal, of a currently undisclosed distance, to win a grand prize of $100,000.
