Not many things went right for the New York Jets in 2025, but it's safe to say their first-round pick panned out.

Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou was a revelation for the Jets and started all 17 games at right tackle. He created quite the pairing with 2024 first-round pick, left tackle Olu Fashanu.

But if New York had the opportunity to do it all over again, would they still land on Membou? Or would they opt to fill a different roster hole ahead of the regular season?

2025 NFL Draft re-draft has Jets selecting Abdul Carter

Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski did a re-draft of the 2025 NFL Draft, and instead of picking Membou, the Jets selected Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 7 overall.

"Obviously, Justin Fields didn't work out at quarterback, though there's not a solid alternative available. Instead, Gang Green turns its attention to a disappointing defense that ranked among the league's bottom eight under the direction of head coach Aaron Glenn," wrote Sobleski.

"Now, New York invests in the class' top defensive prospect. Carter led all rookies in pressures by a significant margin. While his consistent pressure didn't result in as many sacks as expected (only four), his explosiveness and presence were obvious."

While the Jets' sack total was disappointing in 2025, the idea of passing on Membou for another first-round edge rusher, which New York has two of, is hard to stomach.

If the Jets hadn't picked Membou, Chukwuma Okorafor would've started at right tackle this season, and the offense likely would've been worse than you could've imagined.
