The New York Jets don't really benefit from a return of Garrett Wilson from injury at this point.
But for a while, it seemed likely that he'd make it back from his knee sprain, maybe by now.
The news on Wednesday isn't encouraging, though.
This is what ESPN's Rich Cimini reported on X:
"Garrett Wilson's practice window isn't open right now. (Aaron) Glenn reiterates what he said Monday, that they still have to consult with the doctors."

The practice window is the 21-day activation period a player gets when returning from IR. A player can't return to the practice field until that's been started.
Once the 21-day timer starts, a player has to be returned to the active roster in that period or else miss the rest of the season.
So this suggests not only that Wilson won't be back this week, but that it could still be a few more weeks.

It's certainly disappointing for any fantasy football players hoping Wilson can help them get to and win in the playoffs. That's seeming less likely now.
It's also just a bummer of a way to end the season for Wilson, even if he gets back for a few games.
Wilson has played in seven games this season and caught 36 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns.
