Aaron Glenn's first year as head coach of the New York Jets was a complete disaster.

From Justin Fields being a whiff to the defense not securing one interception all year long, it was a brutal 2025 season for the Jets.

But there are still many more statistics that highlight just how brutal this season was for the Jets. And one from Rich Cimini of ESPN offers the perfect encapsulation.

According to ESPN Research, the Jets are just one of three teams to face at least a 10-point deficit on over 50 percent of their snaps. Their total was the worst mark of the last 25 years.

Jets faced double-digit deficits more often than any team of last 25 years

"The Jets trailed by double digits for 53.1% of their offensive plays this season, the highest pct of any team this century," Cimini shared. "The only other teams at 50% or higher are the 2011 Bucs (50.5%) and the 2000 Cardinals (50.0%)."

This statistic is a hard one to believe.

The Jets played over half of their offensive snaps this season down at least 10 points.

The Jets played in 17 games and won three games. And yet, during their season, they were down at least 10 points for 53.1 percent of their snaps.

No other team since the turn of the century has been nearly as bad as the Jets are. They faced big deficits of at least 10 points on more than half of their snaps this season.

When Brady Cook, Tyrod Taylor and Fields were taking the snap this season, 53.1 percent of the time they were doing so with at least a 10-point deficit.

The Jets scored a total of 300 points this season and had 503 points scored against them. The massive disparity was helped by the final five weeks of the season.

New York lost 34-10 to the Miami Dolphins, 48-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 29-6 to the New Orleans Saints, 42-10 to the New England Patriots, and 35-8 to the Buffalo Bills and their backups in Week 18.

It's been a season to forget for the Jets, and while Glenn is coming back for another year, there are some major question marks for the team going forward. The Jets cannot have another season of facing such huge deficits; Glenn will be out of a job if that happens next year.
