The New York Jets chose not to bring Aaron Rodgers back.
Really, it appeared to be a decision of the new regime led by new coach Aaron Glenn.
And in Glenn's comments this weekend, it becomes more clear exactly why the new guy in charge didn't want to keep Rodgers.
“Listen, do we want younger players?” Glenn told ESPN's Rich Cimini. “Absolutely. It’s a young man’s game.”
For those keeping score at home, Rodgers is 41 years old.
In non-Tom-Brady years, that's ancient for the NFL.

The Jets have downsized their age so much that they only have five players on the roster who are 30 or older, including 36-year old backup QB Tyrod Taylor.
New quarterback Justin Fields is 26.
This isn't to say Rodgers' age was the only factor.
But it appears to have at least been the tiebreaker.
It's looking a bit wise already, too, as Rodgers lingers on the market despite the Steelers being the only team that appears to have a spot for him.
