An already depleted New York Jets wide receiver corps. is slated to be missing its best player, as wide receiver Garrett Wilson is doubtful for Week 7.
Wilson suffered a knee injury in London last week and did not turn in a single practice this week before drawing a doubtful tag on Friday.
The doubtful tag is usually the next closest thing to the kiss of death when it comes to a player's chances of suiting up for a game, so things are not looking good.
But is there any hope for Wilson ahead of the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers? Here's what we know.
Is Garrett Wilson playing today?
CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported that Wilson won't play in Week 7 but does have a chance to play next week against the Cincinnati Bengals, so his absence might be short.
Even without Zenitz's report, the doubtful tag is just about all we need to know, as it's very rare for a player to beat that designation and play.
Who is Garrett Wilson's handcuff?
The next best bet on New York's roster at wide receiver is Josh Reynolds, but he only has 12 catches for 72 yards this season and has barely been involved and the Jets' offense is in shambles overall thanks to poor play from Justin Fields.
His role should increase with Wilson out, but it's impossible to trust him in lineups. Reynolds is a desperation flex play, at best.
