The New York Jets are off to a historically bad start, even by their standards.
After a 37-22 drubbing at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys, the Jets dropped to 0-5 on the season, marking the first time in franchise history that a first-year head coach, Aaron Glenn, lost his first five games, and the first time in NFL history a team started 0-5 without forcing a single turnover.
Things are bad in Florham Park, New Jersey, right now, and to make matters worse, they just got dunked on by a former head coach's brother on social media.
David Saleh, brother of Robert Saleh, calls out Jets in X post targeting Woody Johnson
Former Jets head coach Robert Saleh's brother, David Saleh, wrote a scathing post on X, calling out New York and its owner, Woody Johnson, for last year's shock firing of their coach through five games of the 2024 season.
"Last year the #Jets were 2-3 playing for first place in their division when @woodyjohnson4
declared that 'the best roster in franchise history needed a spark.' Since then the #Jets defense has gone from first to worst donning a record of 3-14," wrote Saleh.
Saleh, now the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, is experiencing a lot of success with the team he was coaching before he took the Jets job. They're 4-1 atop the NFC West with a heavily injured defense that remains top 10 in the league.
New York, meanwhile, is struggling mightily under Glenn and is staring down the barrel of another lost season before Halloween.
Who knows how the Jets' season would've turned out in 2024 had they hung onto Saleh until the end, but for now, what fans and analysts were seeing then is leagues better than the product they're putting on the field now.
