Aaron Glenn is in his first season as the head coach of the New York Jets

Things have not gotten off to the best start for Glenn, as his Jets are now sitting at 0-4. The Jets seemingly had a great shot to get their first win on Monday Night Football as they were taking on the also-winless Miami Dolphins

However, the Dolphins had their best offensive game of the season so far and were able to escape with  a 27-21 win. As a result, the Dolphins improve to 1-3 while the Jets fall to 0-4 and are now all alone in the basement of the AFC East.

With Glenn's 0-4 start, the coach has now joined unflattering company. Connor Hughes of SNY pointed out that Glenn is the first first-year Jets coach to start 0-4 since Adam Gase in 2019.

The most interesting part about that? Gase got his first win in the team's fifth game, against the Dallas Cowboys. And who do the 2025 Jets play next? The Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys will enter this matchup against the Jets with a 1-2-1 record. The team played the Green Bay Packers to a tie in Week 4 and have already played in two overtime games this season.

Jets fans may be scared by hearing the Glenn-Gase comparison, however, it may not be all bad. That Gase team that started 0-4 was much less competitive than Glenn's Jets. Gase's team failed to score more than 16 points in any of those first four losses.

In 2025, however, the Jets have actually been scoring. The team has scored at least 20 points in three of its four games and three of the four games have also been decided by one score.

The Cowboys have been far from perfect so far, so it wouldn't be totally surprising to see Glenn get his first win next weekend.

If that's going to happen, the defense is going to have to play better. The Jets are tied for 27th in points allowed per game, with opponents averaging 30 points against the team so far. Considering Glenn is a defensive coach, it's a bit surprising to see the struggles on that side of the ball.

The Cowboys are allowing even more points than the Jets, though, and are 31st in points allowed per game. The Jets have been averaging 22.5 points per game, so it could be a solid matchup for the team.
