The New York Giants traded back into the first round last Thursday to pick No. 25 of the NFL Draft.
A move like that screams one thing: QB. Was it Shedeur Sanders?
No, the Giants took Jaxson Dart out of Ole Miss instead.
The Colorado QB Sanders didn't go until the fifth round, No. 144 overall to the Browns, and in the days since, his free fall has been dissected from every angle.
The Giants specifically had good reason not to pick Sanders, according to draft analyst Todd McShay.
"Shedeur didn't have a great interview with Brian Daboll in a private visit," McShay said on a podcast. "An install package came in. Preparation wasn't there for it. (Sanders) got called out on it. Didn’t like that. Brian didn’t appreciate him not liking it."

Daboll was asked about McShay's comments and deflected.
“Yeah, I’d say we had good meetings with all the guys that came in here on 30 visits,” Daboll said. “Quarterback meetings were productive. And, you know, we’re happy with Jaxson.”
It certainly makes sense that Daboll wouldn't address this after another team picked Sanders. There's no need for the Giants head coach to wade into those waters.
For Sanders, it's just another one of those slightly red flags that keep popping up.
Nothing about the pre-draft process is guaranteed to make Sanders a failure in the NFL. But there was clearly enough there for teams to all question whether they should pick him.
The Browns ended the free fall, but it seems like Sanders' NFL saga is only just beginning.
