The New York Giants are reportedly adding yet another kicker.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Giants are signing rookie kicker Ben Sauls to the practice squad on Tuesday.
The move comes amid uncertainty surrounding veteran kicker Graham Gano, who suffered a neck injury that kept him out of the Week 10 contest.
This is just the latest injury for Gano, who previously spent a stint on injured reserve with a groin injury. New York deployed Younghoe Koo in Gano's stead on Sunday and the veteran kicker made both of his field goal and extra point tries.
Sauls was initially signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers back in April but was waived ahead of cutdown day. He then latched on with the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad before being released last week.
Sauls played his college ball at Pitt, where he nailed 81.3% of his field goal attempts (52-of-64) and 98.4% of his extra points (122-of-124).
With the addition of Sauls, the Giants will have three kickers on their practice squad, although it's possible Koo gets promoted this week to change that.
Along with Koo, the Giants also have Jude McAtamney on the practice squad. He has an exemption because he's an international player, so this doesn't necessarily mean he's going to get released.
The signing of Sauls could mean that the Giants expect Gano to miss more time, although that hasn't been confirmed yet.
