New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo made headlines Monday night when he and comedian Andrew Schultz got into a brawl while sitting ringside at WWE Monday Night Raw.
Skattebo and Schultz got physical with Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and J.D. McDonagh, as the three wrestlers got in their faces, which led to punches being thrown.
Of course, this was a planned spot in the show and these were worked punches or moves that aren't real. Either way, Skattebo had a large amount of backlash come his way due to him currently being injured.
The rookie responded to any criticism being thrown his way on Tuesday.
"Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on," Skattebo posted on X. "I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy.
"Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say."
We've seen several athletes, specifically NFL players, get involved with WWE over the last 40 years.
Lawrence Taylor wrestled in the main event of WrestleMania XI against Bam Bam Bigelow. Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was the guest host for an episode of Raw in 2009. George Kittle, Jason Kelce, Rob Gronkowsi and several others have done spots where they get physical.
This is nothing new, and Skattebo has a point in terms of telling people to calm down.
