The New York Giants are hoping to get rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart back from injury this week.

Dart suffered a concussion in the Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears that sidelined him for the Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Dart showed some progress last week when he was spotted outside with the team during practice, although he did not take part.

We received some more good news for his Week 12 availability on Wednesday.

According to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com, Dart will practice on Wednesday, which will mark the first participation he's seen since his injury.

Stapleton adds that Dart also has a chance to play as a result, so the door is open.

"Jaxson Dart will be back at practice today with the expectation he will have the chance to return Sunday in Detroit, per sources," Stapleton wrote.

We'll see what kind of practice participation Dart has on Wednesday when the Giants release their injury report later in the day.

Any semblance of participation would be a great sign, of course.

Without Dart in the lineup in Week 11, veteran Jameis Winston got the nod under center. The expectation is he will start once again if Dart doesn't play, and Russell Wilson will serve as the backup.

Of course, the Giants are already out of playoff contention, which has led many to wonder if Dart should actually be brought back at all.

That's a reasonable thing to consider, especially given the lackluster cast of players around him. However, these final six games will serve as extra development time, so it's understandable why the Giants would want to bring him back.
