Giants and Titans rumor names new 'top candidate' for head coach vacancies image

The Cleveland Browns fired head coach Kevin Stefanski and he should immediately move to the top of the list of candidates for the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans.

A two-time Coach of the Year, Stefanski's end in Cleveland comes after six seasons and two straight campaigns in which the Browns didn't make the playoffs while posting a combined 8-26 record.

In the wake of Stefanski getting the boot on Monday, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer revealed that Stefanski "instantly becomes a top candidate" for the vacancies of both the Titans and Giants — and that makes total sense.

"The Browns are going to have general manager Andrew Berry lead the search for their next head coach, I'm told. Meanwhile, Kevin Stefanski instantly becomes a top candidate for the Titans and Giants jobs," Breer wrote.

Sure, the last two years have been bad for Stefanski, but he also had to deal with the Deshaun Watson fiasco and the Browns started the likes of Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders at quarterback in 2025.

He is still a highly-respected head coach and would be a fantastic fit for New York and Tennessee.

An offensive-minded head coach, Stefanski would be just what the doctor ordered for two teams developing young quarterbacks in Jaxson Dart and Cam Ward.

But his wealth of experience, especially with handling a dysfunctional situation, also makes him the right guy for both jobs.

The Giants and Titans are rudderless ships and need a steady hand to guide them into the future.

Stefanski simply checks all the boxes the Titans and Giants need and we fully expect both teams to battle over him once the interview cycle begins.
