The New York Giants have several needs to address on both sides of the ball this offseason, with wide receiver being one of them.
Big Blue has multiple question marks at the position. Not only is Malik Nabers recovering from a torn ACL, but Wan'Dale Robinson is a free agent and isn't guaranteed to be back.
The Giants own the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft and there has been a belief that the team could opt for a wide receiver in that spot.
But Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com has other ideas. He predicts the Giants will instead select LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.
"The Giants could add a receiver later in the draft since there is a deep class at the position, but Delane would immediately be their most talented cornerback," he explained.
Cornerback is definitely a position the Giants should look to address, as the team does not have a sure starting option opposite Paulson Adebo.
Cor'Dale Flott will be an unrestricted free agent, Deonte Banks has been a total bust and the rest of the options on New York's roster aren't starting-caliber players.
Delane had a decorated career at LSU, where he was named First-Team All-SEC and a unanimous All-American in 2025.
Delane is a strong, physical corner who is a good tackler and sports a high football IQ and good speed. He has the right height at 6-foot-1, but his 182-pound frame remains a concern.
Another attractive feature with Delane is his versatility, as he has the tools to play inside and out, and even at safety if needed.
Ideally for the Giants, the LSU product would play on the outside.
While we would love to see the Giants make a big addition at wide receiver to help Jaxson Dart, we would not hate a selection of Delane with the No. 5 pick.
